ASSETT Inc. Board of Directors announces
the appointment of George Dasher as President
ASSETT’s Chairman assumes day-to-day leadership
September 9, 2011, Manassas, VA – The Board of Directors
of Advanced Systems Supportability Engineering
Technologies and Tools Incorporated (ASSETT) has
accepted the resignation of Laureen K. Brickley
effective today. Ms. Brickley is departing to
pursue another opportunity in the Washington DC area.
George Dasher, Chairman of the Board, a company founder
and past president will assume responsibility as
President as the board initiates a search for a new
President.
Mr. Dasher is very familiar with the business and is one
of the founders of the company. Commenting about this
appointment, Mr. Dasher added “to our customers,
stakeholders and company staff, I intend to make this a
smooth and seamless transition”.
Advanced Systems Supportability Engineering Technologies
and Tools, Incorporated (ASSETT, Inc.) was established
in 2001 and provides advanced system engineering and
design to clients in the commercial, industrial and
defense sectors. ASSETT employs 50 people, most at the
Manassas, VA headquarters facility. The company’s staff
is comprised of highly qualified engineers who have
significant experience in systems, software and hardware
engineering. ASSETT offers engineering consulting
services and systems engineering training courses, in
addition to the company’s core product development
expertise which has been developed through contracts
with the US Department of Defense, large government
prime contractors and affiliation with universities such
as The Stevens Institute of Technology, George Mason
University, The University of Virginia (UVA), and
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

George Mason University Aspiring Scientists Summer Internship Program, Class of 2010
The George Mason University Aspiring Scientists Summer Internship Program was established in 2007 by Dr. Lance Liotta, Dr. Emanuel Petricoin III, and Amy VanMeter for high school and undergraduate students to gain hands on experience in laboratories at the Prince William and Fairfax campuses of George Mason University. Students are exposed to cutting edge technology and have the opportunity to work in areas of science such as Biochemistry, Biodefense, Bioinformatics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Genomics, Nanotechnology, Neuroscience, and Proteomics. Hard work often pays off with participants' names published in scientific journals and their work presented at scientific conferences. In addition to gaining invaluable laboratory experience pivotal for college applications and resumes, students have the opportunity to meet with scientists from varying disciplines in the scientific field during career day presentations.
The 2010 Aspiring Scientists Summer Internship Program began on Thursday, June 24,2010 and concluded with a poster symposium on Monday, August 16,2010.

ASSETT, Inc.*, Manassas, Va., is being awarded a $14,588,350 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for a Phase III Small Business Innovative Research program under Topic N05-149, entitled “Combat System of the Future,” to perform research, development and engineering services. This contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the total value of the contract to $59,093,867. Work will be performed in Manassas, Va., and is expected to be completed by July 2015. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively procured. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington Navy Yard, D.C., is the contracting activity (N00024-10-C-6259).
