Galen Plunkett is President and a founding member of ASSETT, Inc. He has more than
39 years of industry experience focusing on the design and architecture of
large, complex systems for commercial and military applications.
Over his career he has been involved in many aspects
of total system design, from hardware design and development to overall
system architecture and technology strategy development; he has also been
awarded numerous patents.
Mr. Plunkett started his career with IBM, and has
held high-level positions including Chief Technologist at Lockheed Martin
NE&SS-Manassas. In this role, he was the Chief Architect for the C3I
System on the VIRGINIA Class Submarine Program, which features over 75%
COTS content for both hardware and software elements. He also led the
development of the Integrated Warfare System (IWS) Architecture on the
CVN-77 Program. Mr. Plunkett is an Industrial Fellow at Stevens Institute
of Technology.

Robert McCaig is Senior Vice President and a founding member of ASSETT, Inc. He has more than 39 years of industry experience focusing on the design, development, and integration of large complex systems for military and commercial applications.
He has held many positions including designer of
hardware, manager of test and integration, developer of diagnostic
software, and chief engineer for submarine combat systems. He has also
served as Technical Director for all Navy programs at Lockheed Martin in
Manassas, Virginia, where he provided direction and coordination for all major
initiatives.
Mr. McCaig's career in submarine combat systems
began in 1970 with the award of the AN/BQQ-5 Sonar to IBM Federal Systems.
In 1977, Mr. McCaig transitioned from systems integration to system engineering where he
participated in the system design for several AN/BQQ-5 upgrades, the
AN/BSY-1 System, and the System Design and Development contract for
AN/BSY-2. In Addition, he was part of the Batch 2 Trafalgar Class (B2TC)
design team in the United Kingdom during the early 1990s.
Beginning in the 1990s, he led an effort at Lockheed
Martin for the transition to Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) technology for
submarine non-propulsion electronics. These efforts have led to such
programs as Advanced Mine Systems (AMDS), Medium Frequency Active
Improvement (MFAI), Acoustics Rapid COTS Insertion (ARCI), and the New
Attack Submarine C3I System.
Mr. McCaig was awarded the Albert A. Michelson award
by the U.S. Naval Submarine Forces for his outstanding contributions to the
U.S. Navy. In addition to fulfilling his duties as VP of Systems Engineering, he teaches
courses for Stevens Institute of Technology as an Industrial Fellow at
the university.
With the founding of ASSETT, Inc., Mr. McCaig expanded his systems engineering and architecture skills to include commercial industry. He has worked for IBM Global Services and Business Transformation Outsourcing, as well as, Nokia.

George T. Dasher
George Dasher is Chairman of the Board and a founding member of ASSETT, Inc. Mr. Dasher has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and serves on the Advisory Board of the Charles V. Schaefer School of Engineering, Stevens Institute of Technology. He has 42 years of industry experience, including 32 years in Program Management; 25 years in Submarine Sonar/Combat Systems; seven years in International Program Management; and four years in Space Systems Installation and Checkout. He occasionally gives lectures in Program Management. His Program Management experience includes:
- Submarine Sonar Development (a $120M program, in the 1970’s)
- Submarine Combat System Development (a $1B program, in the 1980’s)
- Anti Submarine Warfare Helicopter Development Program for the UK Ministry of Defense (a $3.5B program, in the early 1990’s)
- Air Traffic Control System Development Program for the UK Civil Aviation Authority (a $300M program, in the mid 1990’s)
- New Attack Submarine Combat System Development (a $240M program, in the late 1990’s)
Prior to joining ASSETT, Inc., he held the title of
Vice President, Domestic Submarines of Lockheed Martin in Manassas
(formerly IBM), a position from which he retired with 36 years of service.
His community service includes five years on the Board of Directors for the
Piedmont United Way (a five-county district) and three years as Campaign
Chairman of that organization.

Wayne Jakubowski is a Vice President at ASSETT, Inc. where he is responsible for the strategic positioning of the company and for maintaining a solid process for sustained growth. As a previous submarine officer and submarine instructor for the Submarine Officer Advanced Course, Mr. Jakubowski also performed as the principle investigator for ASSETT’s Combat System of the Future (CSoF) activities in support of PEO Submarines. ASSETT currently maintains a 100% transition rate for Small Business Innovative Research Contracts like CSoF in going from Phase I to Phase II and recently received Lockheed Martin’s “STAR Supplier” award from its Electronics System Business area.
Mr. Jakubowski has ten years of non DoD information technology-related expertise and 24 years of industry experience supporting the Government in technical fields. His career includes 26 years in management, including nine years in executive management positions. His awards include US Naval Reserve Peer Leadership awards and two Golden Hammer awards for programs he implemented and managed.
In addition, Mr. Jakubowski as 27 years of Navy Submarine Experience (Active and Reserve Service) and is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy. He has a BS in Systems Engineering, an MS in Industrial Engineering, and has Certified PM Credentials (the highest awarded) from IBM, Loral, and Lockheed Martin.
Prior to working at ASSETT, he served as Senior Vice President, East Coast for n-Link Corporation; there he was responsible for the information technology business' expansion beyond the Pacific Northwest. His company won a highly coveted ITSS II contract with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, as the only small business prime selected. Before his career at n-Link, Mr. Jakubowski served as Director of Submarine Technology Initiatives for Lockheed Martin.
